Dr. Tom McDougal is a proven healthcare executive, author, and speaker. Tom serves as CEO for the Manatee Memorial Hospital market in Bradenton, Florida which is affiliated with Universal Health Services, one of the most admired hospital systems in the country. Mantee Memorial is a comprehensive regional hospital with 2000 employees and 600 medical staff members including advanced service lines in Cardiology, Bariatrics, Orthopedics, Robotic Surgery, Oncology, and Neurosciences. The Manatee Memorial Hospital market includes the largest hospital in the county with a 48 bed ER, four cath labs, and 12 operating suites in addition to physician practice locations, three imaging centers, soon to be three freestanding emergency departments, an urgent care location, a home health agency, and an accountable care organization.
Tom began his hospital CEO leadership at age 27 and has served as CEO for multiple health systems over more than two decades. Tom holds a Doctor of Science degree in Healthcare Management in addition to two Master degrees in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration. He graduated summa cum laude from Samford University. Tom is a Fellow in ACHE and served as Regent for the Mississippi Region of ACHE in 2021. Finally, he has published multiple articles and books, the most recent book entitled, Predicting Patient Decisions: An Economics Handbook for Healthcare Executives.
