Alex is the Corporate Executive Chef for Intermountain Health and has over 20 years of experience in the culinary industry. Alex has worked in a variety of food service establishments, as well as graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York Before joining Intermountain, he spent over 10 years working with contract food services as an Executive Chef and Director; opening and managing a variety of locations in Utah, Washington, and Nevada. Throughout his career, he has focused on working toward industry-leading improvements in cuisine, customer service, and culture. After receiving multiple awards in food and service as an Executive Chef, he left contract services to make food on a more impactful level with Intermountain Health. Since joining Intermountain in 2019 Alex has created new menus both in retail and for patient guests, developed and implemented new production standards, championed an impactful GPO transition, developed in partnership with the director of patient meals a new dysphagia menu, increased satisfaction scores, and pushed forward a culture of food excellence across the Intermountain Health System.
