2023 Internship Program

AHF will be accepting nominations for internships in conjunction with our Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida at the Omni Resort at ChampionsGate August 7-9, 2023. Recipients would be expected to travel to Orlando, and work the conference. AHF may also feature you in S.O. Connected, AHF’s published quarterly magazine after the event. This is a great way to get on the radar of future employers while gaining valuable unique work experience for your resume. 

AHF intern opportunities are an excellent way to gain real-world experience at a complex national association conference. During your time on-site at the conference you will participate in the management and running of AHF’s national conference, have the opportunity to visit sessions and network with future employers.

AHF will award up to three students with internships.

What is included? 

  • Free conference registration
  • $750 stipend to be used for travel & expenses 

Internship Expectations

Duties may include but are not limited to: assist with registration and the fundraising event, attend board of directors meetings, observe and assist staff and association leaders,  assist with the Annual Culinary Competition, assist AHF with social media promotion and onsite communications, helping with tasks as needed.

*AHF student membership is required for recipients. AHF Student membership is a simple $25 annual fee. If you are not currently a member of the association, you must join upon acceptance in the internship program.

Process & Deadlines:

  1. 1. Submit the application and required documents by April 30
  2. 2. Recipients will be notified by AHF Headquarters by May 12 at the latest.
  3. 3. Recipients register for AHF Annual Conference by June 1.
  4. 4. Additional information will be sent to recipients before their departure for Scottsdale.
  5. 5. Attend conference Sunday, August 6 – Thursday, August 10
  6. 6. Expense reports and receipts for reimbursement due by August 30
