The AHF Lifetime Achievement Award is the Association’s highest honor, recognizing individuals who have made significant and enduring contributions to the field of self-operated healthcare foodservice, demonstrating exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment to the core values of AHF. It recognizes operator members who best exemplify the leadership and spirit of Jacques Bloch and Angelo Gagliano the founders of our legacy organizations. Those who have distinguished themselves through their contributions to AHF, the healthcare foodservice profession, their employers, the community, and the embodiment of AHF’s values.
ENTRY REQUIRementS:
- – All entries must be submitted in a single Word document that does not exceed 4 pages.
- – Nominees must be an AHF member in good standing.
- – Only one nominee per submission is allowed. Group nominations will not be considered.
- – Nominees must have at least 20 years of documented accomplishments in the field of healthcare foodservice who have had a significant impact on numerous individuals and organizations.
- Evaluation Criteria
- – Demonstrated exceptional leadership and contributions to AHF, including legacy associations.
- – Significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare foodservice practices, standards, and education.
- – Measurable impact on improving patient care, nutrition, and satisfaction through their contributions to self-operated healthcare foodservice.
- – Active involvement in community organizations, charitable endeavors, or civic initiatives.
- – Consistent embodiment of AHF’s core values: integrity, professionalism, innovation, collaboration, and dedication to excellence.
Entry must include the following on the front page:

Contributions to AHF, the healthcare foodservice profession and industry, including academia:
- – Demonstrate the nominee’s leadership roles, service and impact within AHF, including committees, boards, chapters, objectives and initiatives, and its legacy associations.
- – What are some of the most impactful ways you have contributed to the healthcare foodservice profession and industry, including academia?
- – Describe a specific example of a time when you used your expertise to improve the quality of healthcare foodservice.
- – How have you used your leadership skills to advance the healthcare foodservice profession?
Contributions to the healthcare employers and area of responsibility:
- – What are some of the most significant contributions you have made to your healthcare employer?
- – How have you helped to improve the financial performance of your foodservice operation?
- – Describe a specific example of a time when you used your creativity and innovation to solve a foodservice challenge.
Contributions to the candidate’s community, i.e., religious, fraternal, political based organizations:
- – Outline the nominee’s active involvement in community organizations, charitable endeavors, or civic initiatives.
- – What are some of the ways you have contributed your time and talents to your community through volunteer work?
- – What impact have you had on your community through your involvement in religious, fraternal, or political organizations?
- – Why are you passionate about giving back to your community?
Contributions as leadership role models for AHF values:
- – Describe how you consistently exemplify the core values of AHF: integrity, professionalism, innovation, collaboration, and dedication to excellence.
- – How have you mentored and inspired others in the healthcare foodservice field?
- Optional: This submission can be accompanied by a one-page synopsis and no more than ten (10) PowerPoint slides.
