Safety & Sanitation Precautions
As the world makes every effort to end the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to be sure that we are doing our part in reducing the risk of potential spread to our guests, friends, and colleagues. We are greatly looking forward to meeting safety at our conference. As we prepare the gather, we ask that everyone respect and observe our safety pledge by adhering to our five golden rules:
- Vaccinate if you can
- Avoid any travel if you are sick
- Wear a mask
- Wash & sanitize your hands frequently (we will have sanitation stations available throughout the event)
- Respect and practice social distancing
The Omni Dallas, as part of their Stay A Part of Safety program, has updated their already thorough cleaning guidelines and implements additional processes and procedures to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of guests. All their processes follow CPC, local and federal mandates. Furthermore, their guidelines meet or exceed the “Stay Safe” Initiative set forth by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA).

Note: Several attendees have indicated that they are allergic to peanuts/nuts so please be aware and ask your fellow attendees before you open those snack items.
If you have a food allergy, during each meal service, there will be signs that indicate common allergens. If you have a special dietary restriction, you will have a special card in your badge, that you will be able to show to the hotel servers, so your special meal can be requested.
The registration desk is located at the Omni Hotel on the third floor in the foyer space, near the Dallas Ballroom. All delegates and guests must have proper credentials (name badge) to access all conference functions.
AHF Onsite registration hours are:
Sunday – 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Monday – 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Tuesday – 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Wednesday – 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Be sure to download the conference mobile app, available in the Apple App Store and Google Play. Search for “Association for Healthcare Foodservice” or “AHF Annual Conference”. The app includes the complete schedule, speaker bios and much more! You can create your own schedule, connect with other attendees AND interact on the Activity Feed. It’s important to stay hydrated throughout the conference. AHF will have a sponsored hydration station available in the primary ballroom where you can refill a reusable water bottle that will be given to you in your registration bag. Please also use sunscreen when outdoors.
Conference attire is business casual. Relaxed and comfortable is the goal. Also, pack a light sweater for inside the Omni hotel during sessions.
Monday, August 23 – Opening Reception – Theme: AHF Rodeo
Celebrate our opening night with a themed rodeo party! Dress in your best western wear, (boots and hat are optional!) and head on down for a fun and vibrant evening! Be sure to wear your AHF Badge.
Tuesday, August 24 – Culinary Competition Reception and Afterparty
Join us for the culinary competition and reception to cheer on the five finalist teams and watch one team win the gold medalist title! The event will be from 6:00-8:00 pm. The event will be on Facebook Live, so please share the AHF Facebook Page with your teams at home, family, and friends!
Following the competition and reception, there will be an afterparty with dueling pianos!
Wednesday, August 25 – Celebrate AHF!
Cocktail attire and jackets are requested. We will be celebrating our award recipients, members, and industry! Grab your dancing shoes because there will be a live band and you won’t want to miss it!
If you are signed up for one of the area activities on Monday, you will receive an email before you leave for Dallas with everything you need to know. There are a few spots left for the area activities! Be sure to sign up before the deadline, August 9th.
Pickup location is subject to change, we will send final instructions by email before the conference begins and there will be signage throughout the event.
