Randy is relatively new to healthcare foodservice, having served only 3 years as Director of Food and Nutrition Services in a rural hospital in Newton, Kansas. Davis does, however, have many years in many diverse foodservice settings, as both Director and Chef roles, including, country clubs, hotels, restaurants, schools, Business & Industry. Randy believes in the people that are dedicated to foodservice as a career and the vast majority of people that are temporary to the industry. Randy’s journey has led him to focus on growing individuals, to find and follow the path that is most beneficial to them. He feels his approach is a win-win scenario to help everyone find the next rung on the ladder, whether it is to continue in foodservice or to find a better career fit for them. He finds if an individual is treated with dignity and is appreciated for who they are and if you genuinely care about them, then they are much more willing to help with the tasks at hand, even if it is only for the short term.
